[Diurnal .] Carthusian use. illuminated liturgical manuscript in latin,<> in gothic hand in black and red, 17 lines, recto and verso, on vellum. with simple penwork floral decoration in colors in outer margin on most pages<>, occasionally with vertical gold and blue bar with extensions into upper and lower margins, six divisional floral borders<> with space left blank for miniatures, and hundreds of small decorated initials alternately in pink and blue on gold ground.<> 523 (of 524) leaves; lacks leaf 383. 98x68 mm, 16th-century calf, covers panelled in blind with gilt fleuron in center and corners and brass catches and clasps, rebacked retaining original backstrip; text on some pages of calendar and some marginal decoration slightly cropped. northern France, circa 1400

The northern French origin of the manuscript is suggested by the listing of St. Firmin of Amiens in both the Calendar and Litany, St. Honoratus of the same town as second of the Confessors in the Litany; and St. Philibert of Jumièges in the Calendar.<
